Welcome, friends.

MommYoga has been going through many changes lately. Podcasting has been something we’ve decided to let go of for now. This is a change for the better and has allowed us to focus on our new and upcoming journey.

When MommYoga began, we could never have imagined the loving response we would receive. Thank you, to each of you, for that. Now, years later, MommYoga is growing and will expand and grow to new and better DVDs and experiences. We hope you’ll take that journey with us.

For now, please continue to enjoy what we have available, and please take time to learn about some of the causes that are deeply important to us.

Namaste.

You may have noticed that I’ve been gone from this page for several months. My monthly podcasts haven’t kept coming. I have felt a constant guilt about it. I love MommYoga. I love all of you.

But there are so many things going on at the moment, that if I were to do all of them, I would have to neglect the most important one of all: my little ones. And since they are what my life truly revolves around and they are everything to me, I can’t push them aside. Those five little faces are what MommYoga is all about.

So, MommYoga will be back. Actually, big things are coming this year. Yoga for Congo Women is growing. Exciting things are happening with MommYoga. My life is taking some incredible turns.

But I just need some time. Time for them.

I ask for your patience until I’m back. I salute the light of life within you, my friends. Namaste.

Congratulations! You’ve recently had a baby! I, too, recently gave birth, to my fifth child. I understand how you are feeling. The joy, the exhaustion, the wonder, the physical insecurity. Though this is an incredible time, it is also a difficult one, as your body and mind are going through many changes.

Emotions can be particularly difficult at this time. Part one and two of this simple series are meant to be done together, and are designed with forward folds to ease your mind and help with the depression and mental fatigue that are both common and normal during this time. Part three contains some gentle twists and basic poses to help start re-toning your abdomen. Part four demonstrates some basic poses to help to counteract slumping and ease back pain. Enjoy!

After a while, winter’s cold, dark months can get to us. It always starts to get to me around this time. The “winter blues” is a very real thing, and seasonal depression can be difficult to break out of. This series will provide poses that can uplift your spirits again, and help to deal with those bleaker-feeling days.

Part 1 in this series includes poses designed to get your blood flowing and to help you with deep breathing. The simple motion will help to uplift your body and mind. Part 2 involves variations on simple forward bends, which ease stress and depression. Part 3 involves poses that help to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, which calms the mind and body. Namaste!

(Sorry, there are only 3 parts this month…stomach flu!)

Part 1 of the series was designed to be done before you retire at night. And as a quick note, I am expecting, so this series is obviously safe to do if you are pregnant. However, anyone may practice it.
